Ahead of the 2018 motor racing season, Motorsport Media are proud to offer our partners a live stream and television service to complement our current radio and media services, thanks to a new, long-term partnership with broadcast service agency Tapes Up Productions.

After working closely together during the 2017 Cool-FAB British Minibike Championship season, Motorsport Media owner Lester Forbes and Tapes Up Productions’ Alex Raby have forged a new working relationship to create a fresh and cost-effective option for Championships, promoters and the industry, to offer live streaming for race meetings, events and more.

By combining the live broadcast, talent management and social media experience of Motorsport Media with the video production expertise of Tapes Up Productions, the new partnership is well placed to provide your all-in-one media services or compliment your existing portfolio.

Speaking about the announcement, Forbes explained:

“This new relationship helps us provide our clients with a more competitive video and live stream service than what we have been able to offer before. With multiple years of experience streaming live visual radio coverage, and our team having decades-worth of live production management, we have consistent production values, ensuring a reliable, quality output for consumers and prospective clients alike.

“Our new Video and Live Streaming services also tie-in fantastically with our other visual/PR packages. Designed specifically with racers, teams and events in mind, we have a faster product output than others in the market, whilst utilising social/digital media to full effect”.

Motorsport Media’s latest package comes as preparations for 2018 get well underway. With many PR and broadcasting clients to be announced over the next few months, and still time to book the company for your requirements, the upcoming season is looking to be one of expansion and further reach.

Motorsport Media enjoyed another hugely successful weekend broadcasting live radio and visual radio coverage of the final round of the Cool FAB-Racing British Minibikes Championship from Mallory Park.

The team of Tom Brooks and Lester Forbes were on-hand to provide commentary and Lester Forbes to produce the live coverage and bring it to air.

Alongside the packed Sunday-only race schedule was the logistical challenge presented by using two alternative track layouts – a select number of categories (AC40 Rookies, AC40 Pro, Jr. LC40, Senior MM and MiniF1 Sidecars) used the far end of the circuit, which incorporated the unique hairpin and two more corners, whilst the geared motorcycles (MiniGP50, MiniGP 70, Pitbike 140 & MotoTeam and Pitbike Open) used the full layout.

Due to this, we had to set up two commentary boxes on the Sunday morning in order to cover the event and via a high-speed internet solution we were able to seamlessly broadcast the entire morning on Motorsport Radio’s website, where riders and teams including Aleksander Merchant, Casey O’Gorman and Team Williams (MiniF1 Sidecars) were all crowned champions. For the afternoon, Tom joined Lester in the circuit’s main commentary box to commentate on the final races in the 2016 championship, including a titanic battle in the MiniGP 70 Championship between Josh Whatley and Scott Ogden, with the latter taking the crown by 0.2 tenths of a second!

Coupled with the stereo audio radio stream, we broadcast the afternoon’s racing action on Motorsport Radio’s Facebook page with large amounts of success as the two-hour broadcast has currently been viewed by over 9,200 people and had a social media reach of over 35,000 people!

Aside from these services, Motorsport Media also conducted various live videos throughout the weekend through Facebook on both Motorsport Radio and Cool FAB-Racing’s social media channels, with the aim being to give fans a greater insight into the behind-the-scenes action during an event weekend.

Commentator for the weekend and co-Managing Director for Motorsport Media, Tom Brooks, said: “We enjoyed our most successful weekend-to-date with Cool FAB-Racing at Mallory Park and experimented with a number of new ideas, including informal live paddock reports. We also dealt with the logistical challenge of using two different commentary boxes due to planning and preparation prior to the event, meaning that we were able to deliver a first-class broadcast at all times.

“I’m incredibly proud to have been a part of the Cool FAB-Racing paddock throughout the 2016 season and am hugely grateful to everybody involved for the opportunity. Motorsport Media has enjoyed its most successful month to date and providing live coverage has been our greatest asset. I sincerely hope that we can do it all over again in 2017!”

Producer and co-Managing Director for Motorsport Media, Lester Forbes, said:  “It has really been tremendous to be part of the Cool FAB-Racing paddock this season, to get to know the parents, the riders and to witness first-hand the future world champions has been something special. To also provide live circuit PA commentary, live radio and to add a visual radio element with our streams on Facebook has been a great and rewarding challenge at every round.”

“I’m extremely proud to have played my small part in making the championship sound amazing.  Both Tom and myself are delighted to have given the championship a reach of over 430,000 through our live broadcasts and promotion this season and to have over 46,000 tune into the Cool FAB-Racing productions is quite astonishing.

Motorsport Media has worked closely with TV Production company TDi Media and Downforce Radio to provide commentary and audio from the 2016 Cool FAB-Racing British Minibikes Championship as well as to its own brand of Motorsport Radio.

Motorsport Radio made its highly anticipated and hugely well-received live broadcasting debut at the penultimate round of Cool FAB-Racing from Red Lodge last weekend.

As part of the Motorsport Media Ltd group, Motorsport Radio was launched by Lester Forbes and Tom Brooks just over two weeks ago, with the core aim being to provide an all-in-one motorsport hub with the freshest new content including articles, videos and – of course – audio, such as live radio programmes and podcasts.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday the team provided exclusive live radio coverage of the Cool FAB-Racing British Minibikes Championship by covering all Qualifying sessions and Races. Tom was on commentary duties, whilst Lester produced the sound for the entire event.  As well as being broadcast on Motorsport Radio’s website, it was also available to listen to live on our PA system around the circuit!

Alongside this, a visual radio feed was also broadcast, with a camera overlooking the track to give the audience a unique insight into the racing action, and provide advertising opportunities for Cool FAB-Racing’s clients, including brand new sponsor Bardney Race Fairings, who were interviewed live on-air.

Tom was also joined by a number of different co-commentators throughout the event, including British Supersport rider for Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki, Andy Reid, as well as MiniGP 70 rider, Blake Ansell, who missed racing in the event due to an injury sustained whilst competing in the Aprilia Superteens weekend at Mallory Park.

Thank you to all of the riders who joined us on-air for our coverage of Round 7 of Cool FAB-Racing and to you for watching and listening to our exclusive live broadcasts! Both Tom and Lester will be back in the paddock for the final time this season at Mallory Park on the 28th and 30th of October.

The Motorsport Media team had a successful weekend fielding two teams to cover two separate events last weekend, these were Round 6 of the Cool FAB-Racing British Minibikes Championship from Lydd in Kent and the Elim Citroen 2CV 24 Hour Endurance Race at Anglesey in North Wales.

At the former, Motorsport Media was represented by Tom Brooks and Lester Forbes, who provided a full live online radio service throughout Saturday and Sunday, as well as broadcasting on their bespoke PA system for the trackside spectators. They covered all Qualifying sessions and Races across the weekend.

Also provided was a ‘visual radio’ service, whereby a camera was located in the commentary box and broadcasting on Downforce Radio’s Facebook page, allowing the audience interact with the team, and give exposure to a number of Cool FAB’s brand new sponsors/partners.

With the Elim Citroen 2CV 24 Hour Endurance Race at Anglesey, the team comprised of Chris Dawes, Rachael Whiteford, Dan Marr and Jake Sanson. Similar to Cool FAB-Racing, the team delivered a full radio service which was not only broadcast online, but on 87.9 FM within the local area and on the circuit/paddock PA system!

Alongside this, they were also a part of the 2CV Club’s live video stream, broadcasting throughout the entirety of the event with the viewers able to see some on-circuit action as well as inside the commentary box.

Needless to say, Motorsport Media was absolutely thrilled with its busiest weekend-to-date and would like to thank the teams involved for their participation and stunning enthusiasm throughout in helping showcase our talents and abilities.
